UK will hold global AI standards summit next year, minister says

( November 22, 2024, 14:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s AI Standards Hub will host a global summit on standards for artificial intelligence technologies next March, a minister told an AI conference organized by the World Trade Organization. The summit will address the interplay between standards, regulation and global governance frameworks for AI, future digital economy minister Margaret Jones said. The UK is working with the OECD to develop the "Terminology Tool for Responsible AI," she said, and is “finding a fair solution for text and data mining, which supports technological innovation, and protects fair pay and rights for the creatives who generate that training data.”Speech follows....
