Snap moves to dismiss New Mexico child sexual exploitation suit

( November 18, 2024, 22:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Snap has moved to dismiss allegations by New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez that its social media platform's policies foster the sharing of child sexual abuse material, saying the suit contains "gross misrepresentations" of how the Snapchat platform works. "The Complaint that the State’s counsel pens is based on dated and cherry-picked reports, references to and long since discontinued platform features, reliance upon dubious 'evidence' mined from the dark web, salacious screenshots from other platforms to describe conduct on Snapchat, and gross mischaracterizations of both its 'decoy' account’s interactions on the platform and internal documents," Snap said in a court filing.See attached file....
