US and UK AI Safety Institutes’ first 'joint' test results are for Anthropic model

( November 19, 2024, 17:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: For the first time, the US and UK Artificial Intelligence Safety Institutes have shared results of parallel pre-deployment testing of an AI model. Both investigated the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet model that was released by Anthropic in October, but ran “separate but complementary tests.” They assessed biological, cyber, software and safety capabilities, according to a blog by the UK AISI. However, for biological testing, only the US results are published. Findings from the two bodies were shared with Anthropic before its Oct. 22 release.Research overview follows....
