Synopsys awarded $27.5 million in US copyright infringement suit over software licensing

Analysis found that Sunlune pirated about 15,000 copies of Synopsys software, violating the Digital Millennium Copyrights Act.Manufacturing software firm Synopsys was granted maximum damages of $27.5 million in the Northern District of California, ending a suit against software company Sunlune over claims it used pirated keys to access over 11,000 copies of Synopsys’s work....
