Bunnings broke law by collecting customers' images, Australian watchdog says

( November 18, 2024, 23:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian hardware giant Bunnings Group breached Australian privacy laws by collecting personal and sensitive information through facial-recognition technology, the country’s privacy watchdog has said. In a landmark determination published today, Australian Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind that the technology was deployed via CCTV in the states of Victoria and New South Wales between November 2018 and November 2021.
