Google, Meta, Criteo must face US litigation over health data sharing, plaintiffs argue

( November 15, 2024, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google, Meta Platforms, and Criteo should not be allowed to make fact-based arguments seeking to disprove findings made by the US Federal Trade Commission that GoodRx Holdings shared private health data with third parties, plaintiffs told a federal judge. “Not only are these counterfactual contentions inconsistent with the FTC’s own independent investigation, but they are improper on a Rule 12 motion. Whether Defendants acted with intent, had consent to intercept health data, and whether this health data is identifiable are all jury questions under controlling law,” they argued in an opposition to dismissal.
