Unified patent court issues injunction against Meril for patent infringement

( November 15, 2024, 17:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Unified Patent Court's Local Division Munich issued an injunction against Meril, finding that its product relating to prosthetic heart valves infringed on Edwards Lifesciences’ European Patent 3,646,825. The ruling included orders for product recall, destruction of infringing items, and compensation. The court upheld the patent's validity as amended by the Central Division and rejected Meril's objections regarding UPC jurisdiction, as well as denied their request for a stay of proceedings.
