Lithuanian chamber of notaries breached competition rules, national court says

( November 15, 2024, 12:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries restricted competition among notaries, in breach of national and EU competition rules, the Supreme Administrative Court has ruled. The ruling upheld the fine imposed on the chamber, but scrapped the penalties imposed on the individual members of the board, thus confirming the first-instance court's decision. In January, the Court of Justice of the EU said that certain activities of notaries are subject to EU competition laws as they can be considered "undertakings."
