California judge set to lift privacy agency enforcement stay

( November 14, 2024, 23:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: California Judge Gordon D. Schaber said in a tentative ruling he's prepared to vacate a June 2023 order staying the enforcement of the California Privacy Right Act for one year, after a state appeals court vacated the order requested by the California Chamber of Commerce. The parties have not addressed any outstanding non-moot issues for the court, he said, and he's "prepared to issue an order and judgment in accordance with direction from the Third District Court of Appeal." A hearing is slated for Nov. 15 before Schaber in Sacramento. See document. ...
