EU Commission failed to act over Dutch aid to sea-fishing vessel owners, EU court says

( November 13, 2024, 10:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Over 20 fishermen, mainly from France, as well as the organization Low Impact of Fishers of Europe (LIFE) today saw the EU's General Court side with them in their appeal against the EU Commission's alleged failure to decide on a complaint. The complaint accused the Netherlands of granting illegal state support to sea-fishing vessel owners. In a judgment delivered today, the court said that the applicants' claims that the Commission failed to fulfil its duty concerning the national aid at stake were founded. Judges however dismissed the challenge with regard to the remaining parts of the appeal. The judgment is attached. Case reference is T-141/23. ...
