Bimbo-Wickbold bakery deal under review by Brazil CADE

The transaction wasn’t eligible for fast-track processing due to horizontal overlaps in the national markets for industrialized bread and cakes. A quota purchase agreement signed Aug. 29 stipulates the purchase of six Wickbold subsidiaries to transfer their operations to Bimbo. Bimbo do Brasil's acquisition of Grupo Wickbold’s bakery business is now under review by Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE....
