Finnlines challenging EU Commission over Finnish aid to ferry operators at court

( November 12, 2024, 11:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Finnlines has filed an appeal against the European Commission over Finnish support for passenger car ferry operators meant to compensate them for damages caused by the pandemic. In May, the bloc's state aid regulator said that the measure was in line with EU state aid rules. In its appeal from September, published only this week, the shipping company says that the watchdog failed to start a formal probe and that it unduly delayed the preliminary evaluation of the measure, arguing also that the length of the procedure was excessive.The summary of the appeal is attached.
