Dispute over DMCA exemption for medical equipment repair heats up on remand

The activity comes five months after their case was reinstated by a divided US Court of Appeals and two weeks after the same exemption was renewed in the ninth triennial — an every-three-year opportunity to seek permission to circumvent certain technological protection measures.Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance and the Advanced Medical Technology Association, or MITA, collectively, are renewing their call that independent service organizations cannot lawfully bypass technological protection measures to diagnosis, maintain and repair medical devices and systems....
