UK telecom operators get final 5G 'mmWave' spectrum auction regulations

The new bands, suited to carrying large amounts of data in densely packed areas such as stadiums, busy streets, concert venues and train stations, will become available next year. Communications regulator Ofcom said it is waiting for the Competition and Markets Authority to make a final decision on the proposed telecom merger between Vodafone UK and CK Hutchison's Three before deciding on the final timeline for the auction.Statement follows.
