Sydney real-estate agency was wrong to publish tenant's data, Australian privacy watchdog says

( November 7, 2024, 07:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Sydney-based Noonan Real Estate Agency violated Australian privacy law when it published the full name and personal details of a tenant who had published a highly critical online review of the agency, the country’s privacy watchdog has ruled. In a decision dated Nov. 1, the Australian Information Commissioner found that the agency could have responded to the tenant’s review without identifying the person, his or her financial circumstances and profession.
