Extra $2 billion proposed by Headwater damages expert an issue for US jury, not judge

By Melissa Ritti ( November 8, 2024, 21:42 GMT | Insight) -- A US magistrate judge has rejected efforts by Samsung Electronics Co. and Samsung Electronics America to strike a corrected report by an expert for Headwater Research which said the patent owner is entitled to $3.3 billion in damages, in contrast to his original report pegging an “upper bound” royalty at $1.3 billion.
