Increase import tariffs on Russian goods, eight EU countries urge

( November 8, 2024, 17:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Eight EU countries have urged the European Commission to present a “comprehensive proposal to further increase tariffs on the broadest possible range of imports of Russian products into the European Union,” according to a letter issued today. These tariffs would complement ongoing efforts to reduce dependency on Russian imports while not affecting the transit of agricultural products to developing countries. The signatory countries are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden.Full letter attached....
