DC opposes Meta's request for interlocutory appeal in addiction lawsuit

( November 6, 2024, 15:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Washington, DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb opposed Meta Platform's motion for interlocutory appeal in the district's consumer protection lawsuit alleging the platform addicted children and caused harms. "At best, Meta's interlocutory appeal could only lead to the dismissal of Count I of the District's complaint, but Count II, involving the same facts, would still require the parties to engage in the exact same discovery and have a trial on the exact same evidence," the district wrote.See attached document....
