China's specialist IP court in Beijing handled more than 200,000 cases over past decade

( November 8, 2024, 02:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Beijing Intellectual Property Court, one of China’s specialist IP courts, accepted more than 201,900 cases between November 2014 and October 2024, 10.8 percent of which were patent cases, 68 percent were trademark cases, and 18.3 percent were related to copyrights, according to a white paper published recently by the court on its adjudication work over the past decade. The court also conducted surveys of standard-essential patents in the telecommunications industry and formulated a mechanism for recruiting and training technical investigators to participate in handling cases involving complex technological specifics.The statement follows:...
