Japanese data-protection agency increased activities in April-September period

( November 6, 2024, 10:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Japanese data-protection agency increased its activities, ranging from enforcement to international coordination, in the first half of fiscal 2024, from April to September. The Personal Information Protection Commission issued 203 cases of guidance and advice to the private sector, up from 165 cases in the year-ago period, and 93 to administrative agencies, an increase from 57 cases the previous year. The PPC also participated more actively in international conferences to promote smoother data flows and coordinate data-protection policies.
