Swiggy, Indian antitrust watchdog asked to respond to confidentiality-ring pleas

By Freny Patel ( November 8, 2024, 04:09 GMT | Insight) -- An Indian court has issued a notice to the antitrust watchdog and food-delivery platform Swiggy following a legal dispute over the access to confidential information in an antitrust investigation targeting the food-delivery platforms. On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court issued a notice to the Competition Commission of India and Swiggy in response to a petition filed by the country’s restauranteurs, challenging the watchdog’s decision to remove them from the so-called confidentiality ring. Without access to the information-sharing arrangement, the National Restaurant Association of India is likely to struggle to respond to the commission’s investigation, MLex was told.  In the ongoing saga involving a dispute over the access to confidential information, a court has issued a notice to India’s antitrust watchdog and Swiggy, the food delivery platform that’s being investigated for anticompetitive conduct....
