New Zealand rolls out digital ID framework for secure sharing of identity documents

In a statement today, New Zealand’s Minister for Digitizing Government Judith Collins said that New Zealanders can expect safe and secure digital-identity services following the finalization of the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework. The statement added that the framework outlines specific rules and regulations that accredited identity service providers must follow to ensure privacy, security and reliability. The minister said that using accredited digital-identity services would help protect people from identity theft and give them greater control over their information.
