Competition policy must foster European champions, says Macron

Emmanuel Macron said competition policy should also play an important role in ensuring that industrial policy, which is undergoing a revival in Europe, doesn't hand certain companies unjustified rents. Competition policy should participate in building European champions to compete on the global stage, according to France’s president, who said he backed a call to amend the EU's competition rules....
