Default entered against ex-Prudential manager as sanction for retaining mistakenly emailed trade secrets

By Melissa Ritti ( November 4, 2024, 14:18 GMT | Insight) -- Prudential Insurance Company of America won a default judgment Friday as a sanction against a former project manager who inadvertently received confidential information in an email from Prudential’s e-discovery vendor, and then refused to provide the vendor with access to her cloud storage. A hearing on the matter in June 2024 went so awry that defendant Jennifer Kowalski was temporarily taken into custody for her repeated interruption of a US judge, and in September 2024, the same judge placed her in civil confinement overnight for her noncompliance with his discovery orders.A former project manager with Prudential Insurance Company of America who was mistakenly emailed Prudential trade secrets was ordered Friday to pay attorney fees and costs of $181,175 in connection with efforts since May 2023 to secure her log-in and multifactor authentication credentials to Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive....
