US Federal Circuit affirms dismissal of patent complaint against wearable tech firms

( November 1, 2024, 17:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Circuit upheld a district court ruling that major wearable tech firms did not infringe on communication patents held by Cellspin. The company claimed Fitbit, Nike, Garmin, Nikon, Fossil and Under Armor used Cellspin patents for digitally transferring files in their wearable tech. The Federal Circuit agreed with the lower court that the patents at issue do not apply to the wearable tech, ruling against Cellspin's claims. Cellspin argued in a separate filing that the district court judge should have recused himself, which the Federal Circuit also decided against. See attached opinion from the Federal Circuit....
