( October 31, 2024, 01:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A Washington federal judge said he was convinced by arguments from the US Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general over the need for remote depositions in the monopolization lawsuit against Amazon. "Given the numerosity of witnesses at issue, the various locations of the witnesses, the number of counsel involved, and the need to complete fact discovery by August 8, 2025, the Court is persuaded by Plaintiffs’ argument," US District Judge John Chun wrote in his order. Chun said the depositions of witnesses in the case "shall be conducted by a remote videoconference platform at the election of the noticing party unless otherwise agreed by all parties and the deponent."
