Apple says Masimo's US trade secret case is weak, confidentiality agreement with ex-scientist was invalid

( October 29, 2024, 10:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Allegations by Masimo that a former scientist took with him to Apple trade secrets relating to blood-oxygen sensor technology are plagued with problems, Apple says in a pre-trial brief.  Not only was the employee confidentiality agreement between Masimo and Marcelo Lamego "invalid and anticompetitive," according to Apple, "but the Apple Watch, including its health sensing features, was well into development when Dr. Lamego worked at Apple for a mere six months in 2014." Moreover, Apple adds, "there is nothing wrong with an employee changing jobs."See attached document....
