Sonepar to challenge French fine for electrical-goods price fixing, as others weigh appeals

By Andrew Boyce ( October 30, 2024, 11:33 GMT | Insight) -- Schneider Electric, Legrand, Sonepar and Rexel have all strongly rejected the French antitrust authority's decision to fine them today for colluding to fix resale prices of electric goods, with Sonepar already pledging to appeal. The decision focused on a system of “derogations” used by Schneider Electric and Legrand to set the prices distributors charged to end customers, allowing them to offer discounts of the standard price without suffering a loss. Electrical-goods distributor Sonepar says it will appeal a French antitrust fine imposed today for colluding with manufacturers to fix prices....
