AliExpress cited by South Korean communications regulator for user rights violations

The Korea Communications Commission said today it found that AliExpress violated the Telecommunications Business Act through deceptive practices related to paid memberships, including misleading promotional information, using dark patterns to induce payments and restricting cancellation rights by refunding membership fees with store coupons instead of original payment methods. The regulator said it will determine the final corrective orders and penalty amounts after hearing from AliExpress and completing its commission deliberation process.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
