Plaintiffs suing Sutter Health again ask US judge to set retrial date

( October 25, 2024, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs suing Sutter Health again asked a California federal judge to set a retrial commencement date in February or March 2025 after the US Ninth Circuit ruled Sutter must face claims it abused its market power in Northern California to charge supracompetitive prices to health plans. "First, because this 2012-filed case implicates essential evidence from more than 25 years ago, it is critical for retrial to occur soon," counsel for the plaintiffs wrote in a letter to US Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler. The attorneys added that if Beeler's docket prevents her from granting their request, "we respectfully request that this case be reassigned to a Judge who has availability to retry it as soon as practicable." See letter. ...
