Japanese virtual-entertainment company COVER violated subcontract law, JFTC says

( October 25, 2024, 07:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Cover Corporation, a Japanese virtual-entertainment company, received a corrective recommendation from the Japan Fair Trade Commission today for violating the Subcontract Act. The regulator said the Tokyo-based company unfairly required 23 subcontractors to redo their work 243 times after receiving images and models they created for virtual YouTubers between April 2022 and December 2023. Cover was instructed to return the money for the redo works to its subcontractors, investigate and take restorative measures for any additional breaches since April 2022, and implement preventive measures.The statement, in Japanese, is attached....
