EU industrial policy chief designate pledges 'single market strategy' by next June

( October 22, 2024, 22:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Stéphane Séjourné, the candidate for European Commission Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, told EU lawmakers today that he will develop a "single market strategy" by June 2025. The plan could include a new "Single Market Barrier Prevention Act" aimed at preventing national legislation that could have a negative impact on the single market. The proposal came in a set of written answers sent today by Séjourné to members of the European Parliament ahead of his oral confirmation hearing planned for early November.Answers are attached....
