Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile seek denial of discovery dodge by standard-essential patent owner

By Melissa Ritti ( October 22, 2024, 18:40 GMT | Insight) -- KT Corp., as the owner of myriad cellular standard essential patents, can't avoid its obligation to produce discovery in an infringement lawsuit initiated by its licensing agent, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are arguing.  The wireless networks counterclaimed in the case, filed last year in Texas, that KT and licensing arm Pegasus Wireless Innovation failed to license the SEPs on fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms. Cellco Partnership, doing business as Verizon Wireless, on Friday opposed a request by KT Corp. for a protective order which would govern discovery in litigation brought last year in Texas by KT’s licensing arm, Pegasus Wireless Innovation....
