Nvidia tells US court Xockets' injunction request in antitrust suit invalidated by 'actual market evidence'

( October 21, 2024, 23:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nvidia told a Texas federal court that Xockets' request for a preliminary injunction must fail because "actual market evidence" shows Xockets has tried for years to sell its patent portfolio with no success and cannot demonstrate those patents have "any value whatsoever." Texas-based Xockets sued Nvidia, Microsoft, and patent risk management company RPX for allegedly creating a buyers cartel to purchase Xockets' technology. Nvidia said it, alongside the market, had no interest in obtaining exclusive rights to Xocket's patents. "To the extent Xockets disputes that market assessment and seeks to license its patents at higher rates than the market will support, its recourse is to pursue a patent infringement suit, not to seek a preliminary injunction on meritless antitrust claims," Nvidia said in its filing to the Western District of Texas....
