Nidec sees EU readopt waiver of conditions on Embraco merger

( October 22, 2024, 13:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nidec has seen the European Commission readopt a decision lifting certain conditions imposed on its acquisition of Embraco, a rival maker of fridge compressors. The commission’s original decision waiving those conditions was annulled this year by EU judges, who said the regulator hadn’t shown that changes in the market justifying the waiver were “durable.” The watchdog said today it had conducted a new investigation that showed the changes to the structure of the market were “of a durable nature.”Statement follows....
