EU airspace management reform gets final green light in European Parliament

( October 22, 2024, 12:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU’s new airspace management rules, known as the Single European Sky, has received a final green light in the European Parliament and will enter into force 20 days after publication in the Official Journal, although some key provisions will start applying only two years later. “The reform is a step forward in removing bottlenecks, creating more efficient air traffic control and management, and reducing costs and emissions,” said the lawmaker co-leading on the file, Jens Gieseke, adding that “the creation of a truly single European airspace, however, has been blocked by member states, unwilling to give up national powers for the greater good.”Press release follows....
