Mastercard and Sainsburys settle interchange fee dispute

( August 6, 2021, 18:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Mastercard and J Sainsbury have settled their long-running dispute over anticompetitive fee-setting for card transactions. The UK's specialist antitrust tribunal today said the payments giant and grocer entered into a confidential settlement agreement on July 16. The claims over Multilateral Interchange Fees, or MIFs, stem from a 2007 European Commission decision that Mastercard's fees on credit and debit cards breached antitrust rules and were illegally high for more than 15 years. Sainsburys claimed said it had suffered losses due to the fees.See document below....
