Ring can't stay discovery in IoT privacy case, plaintiffs tell judge

( August 2, 2021, 00:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs suing Amazon's Ring for alleged privacy and data security violations told a federal judge in Los Angeles that he should deny Ring's motion to stay evidence discovery while the company appeals a ruling denying its effort to send the case to arbitration. "But Ring fails to meet the Ninth Circuit’s four-factor test to show that it's entitled to such a stay. Not only does Ring fail to show that it has a likelihood of success on the merits, but the balance of harms weighs heavily against a stay," plaintiffs told US District Judge Michael Fitzgerald.See attached document....
