Trump report on imported transformer parts lacks recommendations to boost US industry, transformer coalition says

( August 5, 2021, 21:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Trump administration's report on the national security threat from foreign electric transformer parts, like grain-oriented electrical steel, failed to "identify how imports become a threat when there is no mechanism to strengthen the domestic industry," according to the Core Coalition's analysis of October 2020 findings from an investigation authorized under Section 232 of Trade Expansion Act. The Commerce Department released the heavily redacted report last month.
