( August 5, 2021, 19:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Securities and Exchange Commission will limit restrictions on large whistleblower awards under the Dodd-Frank Act while the commission reconsiders the restrictions placed on large awards during the last months of the Trump administration. SEC Chair Gary Gensler has asked the commission to review the restrictions, which would limit awards based on absolute dollar amounts rather than a percentage of penalties assessed, or deny SEC awards if a different US agency is granting an award in a related enforcement action.
