Glenmark accuses DOJ of misconduct in asking for interviews of India executives post-indictment

( July 28, 2021, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Pharmaceutical giant Glenmark accused the US Department of Justice of misconduct in trying to compel interviews from executives of Glenmark India. India's competition authority, through a request the DOJ made pursuant to a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, tried to compel interviews from two current senior Glenmark India executives and one other individual. The DOJ did not notify Glenmark of the interview requests, the company said. The DOJ violated "ethical safeguards and limitations on prosecutorial power" by contacting the individuals directly and by using the compulsory process after Glenmark was indicted, the company said.
