Ring urges US judge to dismiss privacy claims made by non-purchasers

( August 2, 2021, 23:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary:  Ring is urging a US judge to dismiss claims that the company failed to safeguard the security of its Internet-connected doorbell monitor system made by individuals who did not purchase a Ring device, including 12 children and an elderly woman who lived in a nursing home. They are not Ring customers, but are seeking to hold Ring "liable for alleged 'hacks' of their parents’ or guardians’ Ring accounts and devices that were perpetrated by outside bad actors," Ring argued in a motion to dismiss.
