French CNIL cooperated ‘closely’ with Luxembourg authority in Amazon probe

( August 3, 2021, 14:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: France’s Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés has said that it cooperated closely with Luxembourg’s Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données in the investigation of Amazon’s Luxembourg subsidiary, regarding a possible violation of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation. The CNIL said that it was also involved in analyzing the CNPD’s draft decision. Amazon was fined a record 746 million euros ($886 million) for a data-privacy violation of the GDPR.
