UK approach to online harms probed by lawmakers

( July 27, 2021, 11:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A UK parliamentary panel has started a probe into the government's approach to harmful online content, in its draft Online Safety Bill. The investigation will partly focus on concerns that the definition of harm is too narrow, compared to the government's 2017 strategy on the subject, said the DCMS Sub-Committee on Online Harms and Disinformation. The inquiry is different from any work by Joint Committee on the Draft Online Safety Bill, which was established recently. Interested parties have until Sept. 3 to submit their views.Statement follows....
