More than two dozen unnamed companies have received letters from the California attorney general over the past year warning they are out of compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, the first comprehensive US state privacy law.An online dating platform didn’t tell users it was selling their personal information. A gaming app integrated mobile advertising software that culled user data, including that of minors as young as 13. A “pro-privacy” social media platform didn’t tell users it was sharing their online activity with advertising analytics providers....
