Portuguese private hospitals receive antitrust charges from national watchdog

( July 30, 2021, 08:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Five private hospital groups in Portugal, as well as an industry association, have been issued a Statement of Objections for an anticompetitive agreement by the national competition authority. The five groups affected are CUF, Trofa Saúde, Hospital Particular do Algarve, Lusíadas and Luz Saúde, alongside the Portuguese Private Hospitalization Association (APHP). The Autoridade da Concorrência sees a "reasonable probability" that these companies will be fined for coordinating strategies and negotiating positions in their commercial negotiations with the public health sub-systems ADSE and IASFA.Press release follows....
