Bulgarian watchdog fines 30 energy-efficiency cartelists

( July 29, 2021, 16:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Bulgarian competition authority has fined 30 businesses for their participation in a cartel aimed at influencing a public procurement procedure under the National Program for Energy Efficiency of Multifamily Residential Buildings. The violation took place between 2015 and 2017, and participants had agreed on the distribution of the sites awarded in the procedure and the prices to offer to the contracting authority, the regulator said. It imposed a fine totaling almost 390,000 leva ($235,000). One company escaped a sanction for its cooperation with the investigation, and another received a 50-percent reduction.Statement follows in Bulgarian.
