Targeting ads to kids, teens would be prohibited under bill from US Representative Kathy Castor

( July 29, 2021, 10:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Democratic Representative Kathy Castor will introduce legislation banning technology companies from serving targeted advertising to children and teenagers younger than age 18. The Protecting the Information of our Vulnerable Children and Youth (PRIVCY) Act would also subject operators of children's services to data minimization requirements, mandate opt-in consent for the processing of data and prohibit operators from withdrawing service if consent is refused or later withdrawn. Violations of the law would be enforced by the Federal Trade Commission.See attached documents....
