Südzucker agrees to pay EUR4.2 million fine in Austrian cartel settlement

The company acknowledged that in 2006, it engaged in illegal agreements regarding the sale of industrial sugar. The latest development follows a ruling by the Supreme Court, which sided with the competition authority in its challenge of a ruling that sugar producers couldn't be sanctioned because they'd already been penalized in Germany.
