New horizontal block exemptions, guidelines adopted by EU Commission

( June 1, 2023, 09:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today adopted two revised horizontal block exemption regulations, on research and development and specialization agreements, as well as the revised horizontal guidelines, following a review of the current rules. The revised provisions — which will cover more types of production agreements concluded by more than two parties, for example — will provide firms with up-to-date guidance to help them to evaluate if their cooperation deals are in line with EU antitrust rules. The regulations will become effective on July 1, with the guidelines entering into force after their publication in the bloc's official bulletin. Statement follows.
